PYTCo is a nonprofit organization that relies on voluntary donations to meet the needs of our local community. All the funds collected as a nonprofit are allocated solely towards the advancement of our collective mission.
Without donations, grants, and endowments, nonprofit organizations would not be able to accomplish any of their goals. There are various ways in which a nonprofit can obtain donations; however, fundraising is essential to this process.
Fundraising projects bring a sense of unity and motivation and employ a team effort to accomplish a common goal. This effort brings individuals together and makes the nonprofit stronger and more successful in accomplishing its mission and bettering its local community.
With technological advancements within the past decade, fundraising has transformed completely. Local nonprofits, like PYTCo, can easily and efficiently reach even more people around their community. Having a larger audience opens the door for partnerships, sponsorships, and other means of soliciting donations. This means that an organization can, in turn, help more individuals within a target community.
All these factors contribute to the long-term sustainability of a nonprofit. However, fundraising isn’t the only backbone of a nonprofit organization.
In order to ensure new initiatives are created, planned, and carried out effectively, nonprofit organizations also need volunteers. Volunteers are an invaluable resource in ensuring an organization’s vital programs remain functioning. With a strong foundation, a nonprofit like PYTCo can enhance the quality of life in our community by providing theater experiences and education to promote participation, appreciation, and understanding of the arts.
Why Support PYTCo
PYTCo was created in 1978 and has provided Penn Yan and the surrounding community with years of popular entertainment through our successful community theatre group. We deliver quality musicals throughout the year including variety shows, musicals, and plays to enthusiastic audiences numbering 500 to 1,000 or more per production. The productions offer unique and affordable live shows to the Penn Yan public that is an experience not duplicated elsewhere in the local community. Our organization has succeeded and advanced by countless hours of volunteer support and the monetary generosity of our community.

FLXGives, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc., is a 24-hour online celebration of the Finger Lakes region. It connects generous community members with the causes they care most about. It is a day to celebrate the Finger Lakes and the critical role nonprofits play in making our community great.
